GOTS cottons – what does it mean for me and my baby? Well today we wanted to explain it all and highlight some of the Rockies brands that use these honest and ethical manufacturing methods.

Natural fibres are something we care a lot about at Rockies. Not only are they good for you but also the planet and we are so pleased to stock a range that tick these boxes. Also, we want our new creatures to the world to be wrapped in only the best fabrics with no nasties!

So The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was developed through collaboration by leading standard setters with the aim of defining requirements that are recognised world-wide and that ensures the organic status of textiles from harvesting of the raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing all the way to labelling in order to provide credible assurance to the consumer.

This means there are stringent processes in place to ensure the quality and authenticity of the mark – if you see it a brand has done a lot to become registered so it is 100% legit!

Band of Boys – designed in NZ by a kiwi mum and lovingly created in India. We love their cheetah and cat onesies as they come with four domes at the crotch for added comfort and are finished in a beautiful mid-weight cotton.  Plus, the details are on point with embroidered logo on the arm adding even more luxe! The entire baby range is woven, knitted, dyed, cut, printed and sewn using GOTS certified 100% organic cotton. The leggings and trackies are so cool too – all with the signature Band of Boys style we love.

Wilson + Frenchy – the most irresistible soft, GOTS organic cottons which are all so gentle on baby’s skin.  This brand washes and wears incredibly well and we have a great range for newborns through to two years.  Their organic zipsuits are a must-have for every baby and the range is designed to be mixed and matched. The waffle range is slightly thicker and perfect for keeping winter chills at bay. Plus their knitted pieces are definitely worth a look. And their bedding and sleeping bags are amazing too!
