School's out!

SCHOOL’S OUT, town is filling up, it’s exciting times!

There is so much to do, but let’s start with the obvious - skiing and snowboarding. If you’re in Queenstown with the kids, a few trips up to Coronet Peak or the Remarkables is going to be a huge highlight of their winter. Don’t worry if you have never done it before, no matter what ski fields you go to, you won’t be far from some great instructors that can help you to get started and find your love of the sport.

Next, I suggest a good dose of adrenaline! Kids love jet boating, who doesn’t! I suggest a go on the spectacular Kawarau or the Shotover River. It’s thrilling, exciting and exhilarating, but don’t worry, you’re also given a few moments to breathe easily and, absorb your beautiful surroundings.

For something more passive but no less fascinating, take the kids [and family] on the good steam ship TSS Earnslaw. Prefer the indoors? Try ice skating at the rink in the Gardens, where you will also find a great skate park which is 100% free!

Then, it’ll be time for a hot chocolate, mulled wine or maybe an ice-cream. With over 100 great restaurants and cafés you are spoilt for choice. Try Patagonia for some delicious home-made chocolaty treats. It’s one of my favourite’s, so while you’re down Beach Street, pop into us at Rockies to fill us in on your holiday fun and activities!

Here’s to school holidays in Queenstown.  Enjoy everybody! :)
