Top 5 Things to do in Queenstown with kids

Wed, 22 July 2020

If someone was to ask us what our top 5 family activities would be in Queenstown these holidays it is a hard one to condense but here is how we would answer! Wrap up warm and all of the below can be enjoyed no matter what the weather.

Hanleys Farm playground - this is the best playground we have ever come across and we love it because there is something for kids of all ages from pump track to flying fox, epic sandpit and access for children of all abilities. Oh and the Remarkables are bam smack in your face!

A ride up the gondola is such a quintessential Queenstown activity but that is because it’s that good. The best views of Queenstown and little ones can ride with Mum or Dad on the luge.

There are so many great walks but if you are looking for a loop track with gorgeous views that you can do in less than thirty minutes with the whole family then Bobs Cove is for you! Just a 20 minute drive from Queenstown.

Coronet Peak is also just 20 minutes from Queenstown and offers great ski options for the family. No matter what the age or agility level Coronet has something for the whole family from lessons to rental and childcare from 2 years.

We are big fans of the Kiwi Birdlife Park and for the month of July they are offering half price admission so now is the time to go if you have not been before. You are 100% guaranteed to see a kiwi!

No trip to Queenstown is complete without a visit to us at Rockies at Remarkables Park.  Situated just by the airport we are perfectly placed for a drop in just after you have picked up the rental car. We have all your kids clothing needs covered for newborn up to 16 year olds from snow wear and merino to footwear and toys and accessories.  Here if you forget anything or realise you need a top up once you have arrived!
